Officers with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took Cherie Goss, 42, into custody at a residence in Stark County.
CANTON, Ohio — A woman wanted in Florida on an attempted-murder charge was arrested Wednesday in Stark County by federal agents.
Officers with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took Cherie Goss, 42, into custody at a residence on the 8800 block of Rue Helena Street in Louisville, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. She was wanted by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale. Goss is being held in the Stark County Jail until she can be returned to Florida. Details on Goss’ case were unavailable Wednesday night, but she reportedly fled Florida after being charged in April.
“The strong relationships we have with our law enforcement partners made our community a safer place today,” Stark County Sheriff George Maier said in a statement. “Without these partnerships and our dedicated officers, a dangerous fugitive would still be on the streets of Stark County. I hope this is the first step in providing justice for the victims in this case.”
