Shaker Heights police attempted to stop a speeding car, but the vehicle sped up and led a chase until its driver struck a tree. The man driving was found to be intoxicated.
At 9:15 p.m. Oct. 24, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Norwood Road to investigate a report of an attempted robbery.
The Shaker Heights woman reported that, as the suspects walked towards them, she retrieved her firearm and both suspects fled into a Jeep that had pulled in behind her.At 2:25 p.m. Oct. 20, officers were dispatched to Heinen’s grocery store, 16611 Chagrin Blvd., where the loss prevention officer had detained a 30-year-old Cleveland woman who stole food valued at $38 and then attempted to leave the store.At 3:35 p.m. Oct.
At 12:20 a.m. Oct. 22, a Shaker Heights man, 28, living in the 2000 block of North Moreland Boulevard, reported that someone used a brick to smash the rear window of his Volkswagen vehicle.Attempted auto theft: Fairhill Road At 3:35 p.m. Oct. 25, police observed a car traveling at high speed in the area of Norwood and Warrensville Center roads. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle and its driver, a Cleveland man, 42. The man, however, accelerated away from officers.
