“The door slams, and they’re panicking. I could hear them, ‘He’s trying to shoot us! That man is trying to shoot us!’ “He tried entering multiple homes,” Suskook recalled, still shaken up after Monday’s events. “And next thing we see the police, lots of them, without their sirens, just their lights, and they were going around .”
She said it sounded like bombs were going off in her neighborhood, referencing smoke and flash grenades. “I could hear the drones, the helicopters of police all day, all day, until the early evening,” she said. “Me and my kids stayed in the hallway and in the back room because those bombs were so strong it shook our trailer and we’re scared after that. Couldn’t even eat. That was scary.”“It was comforting to know that they were here and that they got him in one area, and they’re not going nowhere,” she remembered.
