A woman, 61, reported May 8 that she was the victim of a scam after receiving a Facebook message from someone claiming to be a member of musical group, The O’Jays. The supposed singer claimed to be in Australia and said his funds were frozen. He promised to send the woman jewelry and a concert package with a fan pass because she was a good friend.

She did as requested but later received a message that the package had been flagged in Chicago for money laundering because a large sum of money was found in it. She was also told she needed to pay $39,000 to release the package or be held responsible for money laundering by the courier service.A woman reported at 7:27 p.m. May 8 that she heard two gunshots near Wendy’s and the Take 5 Oil Change and saw a teenage boy walking in the area at the same time.
She said her son had dropped the phone when he ran from three males that approached him in an aggressive manner while he was near KFC.Theft: Warrensville Center Road
