Emergency services scrambled to Bell Street in Merchant City after the alarm was raised at around 11.50pm on Saturday.
A woman is fighting for her life after being knocked down in a horror hit and run incident in Glasgow.
Ambulance crews attended and she was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Her condition is described as critical. Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “The car failed to stop at the time and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the car and its occupants.
