A pedestrian is said to be in a 'critical' condition after being struck by a car in the city centre at around 11.50pm on Saturday night .
Police have launched a hunt for the driver of the vehicle after a woman, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident on Bell Street, near to its junction with Parsonage Square, in Merchant City.READ MORE: Glasgow emergency services rush to city centre as street sealed in Merchant City
Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “The car failed to stop at the time and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the car and its occupants. “This is a busy area and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident take place, who has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with information or any personal footage that may assist our investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 4941 of 10 June.”Remembering 24 people who have died in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Paisley this month
