Police said the driver showed signs of intoxication. After the sun rose on Tuesday morning, 12 hours after the deadly crash, crews were still working to get the lights running at the intersection.
"It knocked one gentleman across four lanes of traffic. He was lying on the sidewalk, bleeding," a witness told ABC13.
According to HPD, officers received a call about the crash on Westheimer Road near Briarhurst Drive at 7:24 p.m. Monday. "It knocked one gentleman across four lanes of traffic. He was lying on the sidewalk, bleeding," said witness Tom Lewey. "It was hard to see. He was in a lot of pain."
