A Center Ridge Road funeral home employee called the police department at 11 a.m. on Sept. 10 to report an altercation broke out during a service, and a family member of the deceased needed to be removed.
Officers discovered a verbal argument broke out involving a sister of the deceased who had been estranged from the family. The suspect made threats to shoot “everyone in here,” according to a police department press release.
The officers spotted a firearm in plain sight next to the man driving. They collected the gun and noticed that the driver appeared intoxicated. He had his belt undone and his zipper was down. The 48-year-old Tinley Park, Ill., man was field tested and arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and possessing a gun while intoxicated.
