FLOCK automated license plate reading cameras at 2 p.m. on Aug. 15 alerted the Westlake Police Department to a car reported as stolen out of Cleveland heading southbound on Crocker Road from I-90.

Officers found the vehicle parked in West Bay Plaza on Detroit Road. Two women were in the car. Officers arrested the women and found a burnt crack pipe, according to a police department press release. One of the women was wanted on a warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers found the suspect had locked himself in a restroom. He was arrested without incident. He refused to identify himself, but officers determined through fingerprints that he was a 54-year-old Cleveland Heights man who was wanted on warrants from Strongsville, Brecksville, and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Officers recovered a personal checkbook reported as stolen from Shaker Heights on Aug. 10.

Officers found a vehicle with straight glass pipes with burn marks sitting in plain sight in a cup holder. One woman was in the car, and two people were wandering nearby, according to a police department statement.
