It will feature, the league appears to be swiftly adjusting to leverage the heightened interest and support generated by the “ Caitlin Clark effect.
However, on the very day Englebert announced the new program, the Las Vegas Aces flew commercial to Washington D.C. to meet President Biden and Vice President Harris to celebrate their 2023 championship. Despite the new charted program, the Aces weren't granted approval for chartered flights and encountered the same frustrating delays that have plagued many WNBA teams over the years. Unfortunately, equity across the league for this program has yet to be fully established.
Linear and streaming television investments continue to experience improvement for women’s sports across levels of play. The NCAA Women’s March Madness Tournament was recently evaluated at $65 million and every 2024 tournament game was broadcast across linear television networks. Three of the four WNBA games on Tuesday evening will be featured across both linear and streaming television platforms, with additional options for the fourth game on ESPN3 and WNBA League Pass.
While this is a critical step in advancing the overall WNBA product, it also exposes the lack of investment on behalf of media organizations - for years.has determined that the production-reception relationship is a critical component of how consumers react to programming as well as its intentions to continue to seek out similar programs in the future.
