Sheriff Burch says over 100 rounds were fired.
) - FOX10 News received chaotic cell phone video that shows the moments when dozens of rounds were fired in Saraland Wednesday morning. It was a scary situation for neighbors and police when they say, Juan Puente Jr., fired shots at deputies and then barricaded himself in his garage.Investigators say it all started when deputies tried to serve a warrant on Puente.
“They try to get these type of individuals off the streets,” Sheriff Burch said. “This individual chose a different route other than going to jail.”Puente was seen on cell phone video trying to evade law enforcement near Shelton Beach Road.According to the sheriff the warrants related to child pornography.
After that encounter, Sheriff Burch says Puente returned home and barricaded himself inside his garage and continued to fire at law enforcement until he was fatally shot.“All the officers, about fifty officers, let loose bullets and they were just flying everywhere. It was very scary,” Wright recalled.“It was just terrifying. It was terrifying all the bullets and the cars up and down the road. All the blue lights. They were in my yard, they were next door.
