Armstrong Valley Winery will hold its second harvest dinner on Oct. 19, featuring several courses and pairing those with a few of its white and red wines.
Nets covered the grapes to keep them out of the mouths of hungry birds as harvest commenced last month at Armstrong Valley Winery.Harvest dinners are becoming more prevalent at wineries across the mid-Atlantic as the final grapes are pulled from the vines and staff can relax a bit with the busiest part of the year behind them.in Halifax, Dauphin County, is hosting its dinner on Saturday, Oct. 19, in the vineyard.
That’s what happened in 2023 when the winery held its first harvest dinner. This year, co-owner Caleb Wright said, “We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the best weather possible for Oct. 19.”Wright noted that while Armstrong Valley, at 212 Rutter Road, holds monthly dinner, the one scheduled for mid-October is a special celebration. “We do a grandiose table setting and menu.
