Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes stated that a shooting at a Christian school in Wisconsin, resulting in the deaths of a student and a teacher, was caused by a combination of factors. He added that investigators are trying to determine the 15-year-old shooter's motive, including whether bullying played a part. Six other victims were injured and hospitalized. Barnes clarified that a 911 call reporting the shooting came from a second-grade teacher, not a student, and that the department is still verifying the authenticity of a purported manifesto attributed to the shooter.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said Monday’s shooting at a Christian school in Wisconsin was the result of “a combination of factors,” but did not divulge additional information.
He said officers are talking to students to help determine if bullying could have played a part in the horrific attack.The status of the six injured victims who were rushed to local hospitals after the shooting remained “unchanged,” he said. Barnes said the department was still working to determine the authenticity of a “manifesto” widely circulating online that’s been attributed to the shooter.
