Beryl has weakened into a tropical storm, but it is expected to regain hurricane strength before a Texas landfall on Monday.

Weather models are finally starting to zero in on Beryl’s path and expected landfall location along the Texas Gulf coast. The storm’s track has continued to trend eastward over the last couple of days, meaning that the heaviest rain and strongest winds are also most likely to stay east of San Antonio . But will any part of Beryl affect the Alamo City ? Here’s what you should know. Latest on Beryl Beryl has weakened considerably over the last day and a half.

According to the National Hurricane Center’s forecast track, the center of Beryl is expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Matagorda Island, Port O’Connor, and Port Lavaca. That’s about 125 miles southeast of San Antonio. Landfall is expected Monday morning, likely between 5 and 10 a.m. What does it mean for San Antonio? If landfall does indeed occur near Matagorda Island, most of Beryl’s moisture would stay off to the east.
