Rain is back across Northeast Ohio Wednesday, bringing the wettest stretch the region has seen in weeks.

Around a half-inch of rain is expected in Northeast Ohio on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. Some areas could see higher amounts where slow-moving thunderstorms develop. The steadiest showers are expected through the afternoon before tapering off to more scattered activity overnight and Thursday.

Most areas will pick up around a half-inch of rain, according to the National Weather Service. But slow-moving thunderstorms could bring a rumble of thunder and deliver 1 to 2 inches or more in spots, especially around Cleveland. “Will have to keep an eye out for at least a low potential for minor flooding where storms persist,” meteorologist Patrick Saunders wrote inWednesday evening, and while conditions should gradually improve by first pitch, forecasters say a few showers could still linger in the area. Temperatures will settle into the upper 60s by game time, with the radar worth watching for any last-minute pop-up showers or storms. As the storm system shifts east, rain chances will gradually diminish. A few isolated showers could redevelop Thursday, mainly during the afternoon, with highs again in the low to mid 70s. By Friday, only stray showers are expected, most likely downwind of Lake Erie in Northeast Ohio. Otherwise, clouds will begin to break with temperatures running near normal. The five-day weather forecast for Cleveland, Ohio, includes rain during the rest of the workweek before high pressure builds in and provides a pleasant weekend.High pressure will build over the Great Lakes this weekend, setting up a much quieter stretch of weather. Sunshine should return Saturday with highs in the mid- to upper 70s. A weak cold front is forecast to slide through on Sunday, but no rain is expected. Conditions will remain seasonable into early next week, with pleasant mornings in the 50s and afternoons topping out near 80. No additional precipitation is expected through at least Tuesday. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
