Orlando Pirates started the CAF Champions League qualifiers with a shock draw against Disciples in Mauritius. Jose Riveiro has explained why.
Orlando Pirates were largely expected to easily brush past a team from the Madagascar league, but that is not what happened in Mauritius last weekend.In what was the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, Madagascar’s Disciples FC held Orlando Pirates to a goalless draw before the second leg in Soweto on Friday at 19:30.
“But we didn’t concede and that is also important. In less than one week we have to finalise this in Orlando and we know that it is not going to be easy because they are a good team and we have to do everything to impose ourselves,” the Orlando Pirates tactician concluded.coach Jose Riveiro prefers Tshegofatso Mabasa and Evidence Makgopa ahead of Lepasa. Meanwhile, reports say the likes of Cape Town City and SuperSport United are keen to sign the 27-year-old Lepasa from Orlando Pirates.
