Hang the banner: If the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl, it’s all thanks to the Giants.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell yells from the sideline during the first half of an NFL football game against the San Francisco 49ers, Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, in Santa Clara, Calif. said when asked what the impetus was for Detroit’s 15-2 regular season, which continues Saturday when they face the Commanders in the Divisional Round.“I felt like the biggest adjustment for us was training camp out at New York,” Campbell said Thursday. “That was the first real taste of the perception.

“It was a lot of energy; a lot of juice. And I thought that was good for us to get that and it’s like now, you know what it’s going to be like all season, and we’ve handled it. I mean, we handle it well. We know we’re going to get everybody’s best shot.” If only the Giants had found the same “juice.” With a 3-14 record and the longest losing streak in franchise history, the Giants had one of their worst seasons of the century in 2024. Detroit, meanwhile, is the betting favorite to win Super Bowl LIX, despite a slew of injuries to their impressive defense.
