Where pop culture meets fashion.
The latest health “trend” is not a trend at all. Rather, it’s rooted in millennia-old recipes.Text by Mathias Rosenzweig Photos by Brittney Scott
Another day, another well-being trend. Except the latest inescapable craze is not a “trend” at all—it dates all the way back to the Stone Age. Bone broth, which is having an inescapable resurgence, is rapidly increasing in popularity, and with good reason. Having already been a key component of ancient Chinese medicine, Greek and Roman civilizations, and Egyptian culture, these delicious and healthful broths have had proven benefits for our guts long before the word “hashtag” even existed.
The extra special step in ripe bone broth is that each jar has been made with such care and attention. RIPE Founders Alex & Isaac have been so helpful in directing me all the way from Toronto to ensure I got the recipe perfect! While Ozempic has been trending in weight loss circles, bone broth offers a much more sustainable and holistic approach to wellness.
If you are looking for a way to kick start your healing journey, there is a 14-day Heal Your Guts reset on my website which I curated to inspire you to build a routine which actually supports a lifestyle that you can maintain your goal weight. Not because you are restricting yourself from food but because you will be learning how to eat with intention and to fuel your body. And, of course, to move where and how you can.
What do you think the future for broth looks like? Might it be a new contender with coffee and tea for the mornings? It is the perfect way to get around not hurting your hormones by drinking coffee on an empty stomach. I absolutely see broth becoming a contender in the morning wellness routine, alongside coffee and tea in Europe.
