Those appointed to the Cabinet of the Muhyiddin Yassin government will take their oaths of office in Putrajaya tomorrow.PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, a respected ulama, is making his first appearance in a federal government position, as Minister of Environment in the new cabinet announced today.
He failed to defend the seat, losing to BN’s Abdul Rahman Ibrahim by 1,714 votes, and also lost in the Maran parliamentary seat where he was defeated by a 7,242-vote majority. BN candidate Ismail Abd Muttalib polled 15,725 votes, while Tuan Ibrahim obtained 8,483 votes. He was appointed PAS deputy president from 2019 to 2021 and has been Pahang PAS Commissioner since 2004.Saifuddin Abdullah, named as the new Communications and Multimedia Minister, was the foreign minister in the former Pakatan Harapan government.
He is also a former president of the Malaysian Youth Council, member of the National Information Technology Council and chief executive officer of the Global Moderate Movement Foundation.Saifuddin began his political career with Umno and was elected MP for Temerloh for two terms on the Barisan Nasional ticket.
Adham, who is information chief of Johor Umno, was the Parliamentary Secretary of the Higher Education Ministry from 2004 to 2008, and was a special officer at the Ministry of Youth and Sports .
