PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's new Cabinet will feature a completely new structure, with four senior ministers as coordinators of four major portfolios.
According to a source, there will be four senior ministers in charge of four major portfolios, namely, Economy and Finance; Security; Social as well as Rural and Infrastructure.
"There will be no deputy prime minister. It is a completely new structure, doing away with the traditional Cabinet which Malaysian has had ever since independence. "All the other portfolios will be put under ministries and then these will be parked under the senior ministers," said the source. The source added it is very likely Datuk Seri Azmin Ali would be helming the Economy and Finance portfolio."A Gagasan Parti Sarawak MP would most likely be given the Rural and Infrastructure senior minister's post, as development is very much lacking in East Malaysia.It has yet to be known if the new Cabinet, which will be announced by Muhyddin at 5pm Monday , will be bigger or downsized from the previous one.
