An abandoned long-haired German Shepherd dog was found in a crate Friday night.
A dog in a crate was found abandoned Friday night in frigid weather behind the Hobby Lobby store in Loyalsock Township Friday evening., State Police at Montoursville dispatched to the rear lot around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 for a report of a dog found outside. They arrived to find a long-haired German Shepherd inside a crate. A bag of dog food was left on top of the crate.Temperatures Friday evening were in the teens and went down to single digits.on Saturday night.
Due to the cold weather conditions as well as the dog’s overall physical condition, the incident is being investigated as animal cruelty. Anyone with information connected to the incident, including a potential owner is asked to contact Trooper Arnold at 570-368-5700.
