Which NFL team deserves their 1st Super Bowl win? 🤔 Check out dan_olinger’s list:

I bring this issue to you now because of what’s happening in the NBA playoffs—a final four of the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Denver Nuggets were put before us, and the first team to clinch its spot in the Finals was none other than Denver. The Celtics and Lakers are tied for the most titles in NBA history at a whopping 17 apiece, and over the past 20 years, the Heat has been one of the most consistently successful franchises in the NBA.

Due to its series-long structure in the playoffs and the amount of sway a single star can have in each game, basketball still has many franchises that have failed to win a title or even make the NBA Finals. In football, there are only four such active franchises that have never reached the Super Bowl—the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions.

I’ll preface the explanation with this—each of these four fan bases is far more deserving of success in the near future than the other 28 fan bases around the league. Obviously, a Houston fan who endured from David Carr through Davis Mills is more deserving than a New England Patriots fan who got to watch Tom Brady for 20 years. But in comparison to these other three teams, the Texans just aren’t as morally justified in their need for success.

And while no one would praise the Texans as a model of consistency in the NFL, Houston still has won the AFC South six different times and from 2011-2019, finished with a winning record seven times in nine seasons. Texans fans deserve to watch their team in a Super Bowl one day, but just not as much as these three other long-suffering fan bases.
