All but one of the Alabama players who left have found new homes, some even staying in the SEC. Here’s what to know about where each of them wound up.The defensive back had trouble getting on the field last season. He’ll join former UA offensive coordinatorMontgomery made more of an impact with his offseason opinions about workout difficulty than he did on the field. The Anniston product did not take any snaps in 2025 before moving on to Bowling Green .Alabama’s run game disappointed this year, and as part of a rotating of four RBs, Young didn’t have the year anticipated . He’ll look too revitalize his career under coach Deion Sanders in Boulder.Mbakwe, a former five-star Clay-Chalkville product told reporters he was planning on sticking around Alabama before the season ended. Those plans evidently changed, as the defensive back-turned wideout headed to the Yellow Jackets.Another pickup by Georgia Tech, Ionata didn’t play much for Alabama during the 2025 season. He was listed as the Crimson Tide’s backup center, but if Parker Brailsford left a game, it was typically Geno VanDeMark who took over the spot.Hale contributed in 2023 , then missed the entire 2024 season due to a serious leg injury. He saw action in five gamesin 2025 but did not make a catch.The native of Finland didn’t see much action in his three years in Tuscaloosa. He’ll look to be more of a contributor in Lexington, under new head coach Will Stein.Carter joined Alabama as an edge in the 2024 recruiting class. He would have had a chance to earn major playing time next season but opted to leave after 10 tackles in two seasons.Notaro never got past Conor Talty on the depth chart. After just five kickoffs and Alabama adding a kicker from the transfer portal in addition to the remaining Talty, the Pennsylvania native is now two hours from home.The Theodore High product was a well-thought-of prospect in the 2025 class. He got on the field in just one game, Eastern Illinois.Adams was Alabama’s primary punt returner in 2025, but only made 13 catches for 176 yards. He’ll remain in the SEC and see the Crimson Tide next season with the Commodores.Formby was a starter for Alabama last season, both at tackle and guard. He returns to Tuscaloosa, his hometown, on Oct. 24.Keeley, a former five-star edge prospect and the No. 2 recruit in the 2023 class, finally saw significant playing time, making 16 tackles and three sacks. However, he opted against a fourth season in Tuscaloosa and headed to a place that recruited him heavily out of high school.Calhoun, a reserve DB this past season, looks to take the Caleb Downs route to superstardom in Columbus. The Ohio native joins a Buckeye squad that fell to Indiana in the Big Ten championship game and Miami in the College Football Playoff.Like Calhoun, he’ll be a Buckeye. Unlike Calhoun, he’s not from Ohio. The Montgomery native started three games and played in only nine after a foot injury against Georgia. Had 14 tackles and a sack.Smith and Russaw made it a point to go from Carver-Montgomery to Alabama together, largely because of their friendship. Not a lot seems to have changed other than the zip code. Smith had 26 tackles and 2.5 sacks this past season.The lone Alabama defector who hasn’t found a new team yet. Bird spent one year as a long-snapper at UA after transferring in from Cal.After starting his career with two seasons at Florida, the Gardendale product will continue his tour of the SEC. At Florida, he made 29 tackles. At Alabama, he made 10 with two sacks.Anugwom transferred to Alabama from Miami of Ohio before the 2025 season, then only saw action in one game, Eastern Illinois. He’s now off to join the Wildcats in the Big Ten.Horton’s departure will hurt after he led the team in touchdown catches last season , and third in catches and yards . All but the touchdowns were dropoffs from 2024 production. He’ll return to Tuscaloosa with the Aggies Oct. 24.Renaud spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa, but felt it was time for a change of scenery. He had 34 career tackles, 16 coming last season. He returns to his home state, where Pete Golding recruited him away from in 2022.
