Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. to reports of a stabbing in an alley near the 4400 block of 35th Avenue Southwest, according to Seattle police. At the scene, officers found a 39-year-old man with a stab wound to his stomach, lying in a pool of blood. Police provided emergency medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and took over treatment. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.According to police, the couple had been walking toward their apartment building near a back stairwell when they encountered three people described as two men and one woman. Investigators said a brief verbal altercation quickly escalated, and one of the male suspects stabbed the victim in the abdomen.Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate any suspects.
