Firebrand Greens MP Max Chandler-Mather has clashed with Anthony Albanese during Question Time over the sensitive topic of parliamentarians owning investment properties, which prompted the Prime Minister to redirect the MP to his own party room.

Anthony Albanese has implored Max Chandler-Mather to look at his own party room after the Greens MP slammed “Labor politicians who own an investment property” in a fiery Question Time clash.

“Why is Labor refusing to phase out the big tax handouts for property investors including the capital gains tax discount and negative gearing that benefit wealthy property investors like yourself and the 75 per cent of Labor politicians who own an investment property?” he asked. “I look forward to his discussion in the party room with the property developers in the Senate who are currently having proposals to carve through Koala habitat in his party room, but that is fine,” the Prime Minister shot back.

The deputy leader is also currently planning to bulldoze dozens of trees that form a koala habitat in order to subdivide the Port Macquarie property into three luxury rentals. Senator Faruqi plans to destroy koala habitat in order to build new investment properties. Picture: News Corp.
