The medicines regulator and Health Department are being tight-lipped about the progress of their investigation.
eNCA understands Crime Intelligence has been roped in to try and locate the two consignments of chloroquine. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority won't comment on the matter, saying this would jeopardise its investigation.The Health Department has adopted the same stance, except to confirm Port Health authorities have no record of these consignments.
