Bond set for $90K for Erik Cantu after being held on previous probation violations Since being shot by a San Antonio Police officer, Erik Cantu’s road to recovery has been long. He has also been in front of a judge several times. You may recall it was in October of 2022, when the then 17-year-old Cantu was shot by then-SAPD officer James Brennand in a North Side McDonald’s parking lot. According to reports, Cantu was sitting in his vehicle eating when Brennand approached, opened the driver’s door, and ordered him out. Brennand was indefinitely suspended following the shooting.This includes an arrest in 2023 with his girlfriend for theft.
