Former Denver Broncos defensive lineman Derek Wolfe joined Tucker Carlson on Monday night to discuss the backlash he's received after legally hunting and killing a mountain lion that was terrorizing a residential neighborhood.
"I can’t believe what is happening to me," he said on Fox News."They have had 200 calls at Colorado Parks and Wildlife trying to turn me in like I did something wrong."FORMER NFL PLAYER DEREK WOLFE KILLS MOUNTAIN LION IN NAME OF 'PREDATOR CONTROL'
The backlash began after Wolfe revealed the kill on Instagram. He detailed the mountain lion's reign of terror and recalled the hunt in his caption. "Since 1990, there have been 23 human attacks. So that means every other year, there's a human being attacked by a mountain lion," Wolfe told Carlson. He further explained that pet dogs were also getting killed by the animals."People were calling Parks and Wildlife, wondering, 'Where are you at? Why aren’t you coming to help us?'"
Wolfe made it clear that no one was paid for this hunt and that he did it to help the community. According to the former athlete, it had been living under a woman's porch and she was scared for her pets."I was able to make a good ethical shot" and"harvested the cat," he added.According to Wolfe,"CPW came down and checked the cat in for me. I took the meat and got it processed. I'm going to eat that cat.
