Former NFL coach TonyDungy cites Damar Hamlin in March for Life speech
The former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and current football analyst for NBC said that the public's hope that Hamlin would recover from his injury is representative of the goal of anti-abortion advocates to protect"innocent lives.""He's home, he's been released from the hospital.
"Every day in this country, innocent lives are at stake. The only difference is they don't belong to a famous athlete. And they're not seen on national TV, but those lives are still important," Dungy added. Dungy announced Thursday that he would be attending the march in person, which is celebrating its 50-year anniversary this year, and the first to be held since the Supreme Court overturned"This march is taking place right at the biggest time of my profession, the NFL playoffs. This is way, way, way more important," Dungy said.
His wife, Lauren Dungy, was also present and spoke about their experience fostering children over the past several decades. The couple has 11 children.
