WATCH: GovRonDeSantis was greeted like a rockstar at the Jaguars/Chiefs game
Chiefs fans were seen giving the Florida governor high fives and filming him on their phones. The Jaguars would go on to lose the game to the home team.
After making an on-stage appearance at a Luke Bryan concert last year, the country star received backlash for getting involved in politics. DeSantis used his cameo at the concert to raise awareness about the funds being raised in the name of Hurricane Ian. Bryan would go on to address the controversy and defend the governor's presence as being for a good cause.— 1010 XL / 92.5 FM January 21, 2023 DeSantis's presence at the game comes as he is favored to run for president in 2024.
DeSantis, who was just sworn into his second term as governor on Jan. 3, has not indicated whether he’ll seek the presidency.
