A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation took place at the Edge of Lowry apartment complex early Wednesday morning as part of a larger law enforcement effort across the Denver metro area. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration , Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations were all at the Edge of Lowry complex as well assisting ICE . Denver7 FaceTimed with a couple residents at Edge of Lowry on Wednesday morning as ICE entered their apartment.
Moreno said the family asked ICE for a warrant to enter their apartment, but told Denver7 that officials did not show them one. Federal law enforcement told Denver7 Investigates that agents do have warrants for these operations. Moreno and her family gained asylum on Jan. 14 and has their documents to prove as much, Moreno said. The federal law enforcement operation cleared out around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
