Watch Blue Jays' Alek Manoah unsuccessfully try to blow an Astros bunt into foul territory

Alek Manoah of the Toronto Blue Jays wipes his brow in the dugout after getting pulled in the first inning against the Houston Astros during their MLB game at the Rogers Centre on June 5, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.TORONTO — Alek Manoah had a start to forget against the Astros on Monday, but, for his sake, maybe people will remember it more for a silly play he tried to make instead of his actual pitching performance.

After Mauricio Dubón led off the game with a first-pitch single, Jeremy Peña followed with a perfect bunt down the third-base line. As the ball rolled in the dirt inches away from the chalked base line, Manoah and Blue Jays' third baseman Matt Chapman followed its progress. With it looking like it definitely would hug the line and not turn foul, Manoah got down on one knee and desperately tried to blow it foul.

Realizing his futility, Manoah appeared to give up after just one strong huff as Peña reached base safely.Already having A Normal One here at Rogers Centre.
