Local personalities in the entertainment industry, civil society, and politics unite in delivering the translated Filipino version of Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator speech, to denounce the newly-signed Anti-Terrorism Law
Among the prominent figures in the local entertainment and media industry who graced the video are actresses Iza Calzado, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Glaiza de Castro, Janine Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, and Agot Isidro; film directors Baby Ruth Villarama, Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, and Joel Lamangan, Mae Paner, Winnie Monsod, and embattled Rappler chief executive officer Maria Ressa.
Personalities from the civil society who appeared in the video include former Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, lawyer Ted Te, Sister Mary John Mananzan, Brother Edmundo Fernandez of De La Salle University, indigenous peoples representative Eufrenia Cudiamat, professor Randy David, labor leader Leody De Guzman, Neri Colmenares, and Carol Araullo.
Opposition figures like Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Risa Hontiveros, Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte, and Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Zarate read a few line of Chaplin’s speech in the video as well.
