Sabah DAP acting chairman, Datuk Frankie Poon dismissed rumours of political talks of the current state government likely to collapse with the situation at the federal-level.“ it is 48 seats , you need more than 31 seats to change the government.
“We are all solid behind the current government,” he said, adding that the assemblymen had pledged their commitment to Warisan president Mohd Shafie. Poon, who is also state Health and People’s Wellbeing minister, was speaking to reporters after the soft launch of the Ministry’s Digitisation Initiative and Service Excellence Awards here.
At press time, there were 31 Warisan assemblymen, six DAP, four UPKO and two PKR in the government bloc, while the opposition bloc consists of nine PPBM, four PBS, three Star and one Umno. He added that it is without a doubt that Sabah DAP has always been united and firm with their commitment to the current government.“The Chief Minister has done an excellent job in taking care of the people and their interests. For me, I see that there is no reason why people should go anywhere else,” he said, adding that the coalition is now focusing on providing better services to the people.
