Last week, Elio learned this the hard way: A TikTok video falsely alleging there had been a violent ICE raid at a “Pupusa Loca” restaurant went viral, racking up thousands of shares and nearly 1.4 million views.
Among the more than 1,000 comments, people shared fears about “getting caught” in similar raids and many others expressed their worries that a loved one could “go out to dinner and never make it back home.”
