"It's truly hard to put into words what these last two years and this experience have meant to me. From being raised in the province of Quebec back home in Canada to representing this incredible program, wearing these colors and competing at the highest level has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Rioux posted in a personal announcement."After taking time to reflect on my journey and what's best for my future, I've decided to enter the transfer portal."He redshirted his freshman season and this year averaged just 1.5 minutes per game this year, appearing in 11 games and totaling seven points. In a win over Saint Francis during the regular season, however, Rioux made college basketball history when he scored his first career points, becoming the tallest player ever to score in NCAA history.Rioux still got to experience winning a national championship, which Florida managed to do last season, and this year the Gators were surprisingly upset in the Round of 32 as a No. 1 seed. With three years of eligibility remaining, Rioux becomes one of the more intriguing players in the transfer portal for teams that can find a way to harness his size despite his unpolished game at the collegiate level.
