Calanni, who suffered the most severe injuries, was unconscious and transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.“I broke down in tears seeing him with, life support, the tube down his throat,” his father, Luciano Calanni, said. 19 Investigates found James Gadomski was a wanted felon in Cuyahoga County at the time of the crash on I-480.

Gadomski, who told a trooper he smoked marijuana the day before the crash, said he sideswiped the car while swerving to avoid a piece of debris. Because of this, the trooper wrote in his report, “The Lake County Jail could not accept Mr. Gadomski and Cuyahoga County Jail would not accept him until he was no longer under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
