Vincent D'Onofrio explains how Kingpin has changed in Hawkeye since making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Daredevil. Borrowing inspiration from Matt Fraction and David Aja's 2012 comic run, the Disney+ series centers on Clint Barton a year after the events of Avengers: Endgame as he tries to enjoy having his family back by taking his kids to New York City for a holiday vacation and seeing a Captain America-based musical.
Jeremy Renner leads the cast of Hawkeye alongside Hailee Steinfeld in her MCU debut as Kate Bishop, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo, Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d'Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Vera Farmiga and Zahn McClarnon. The series also marked the MCU returns of Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova from Black Widow as well as Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin from Netflix's Daredevil.
While the Hawkeye finale seemingly ended with Kingpin being shot and killed at the hands of Maya Lopez, the camera moving away from the shot itself certainly left D'Onofrio's future open. Additionally, with Spider-Man: No Way Home properly confirming Charlie Cox's return as Matt Murdock to the MCU and Tom Holland himself being eager to face off against Kingpin, audiences are certainly hopeful to see more of the antagonist in the future.
