Residents of Sittingbourne, Kent decided to take matters into their own hands when a footpath did not reopen after its temporary closure order ended.
Frustrated villagers stormed a building site after a developer blocked a footpath beyond its agreed six-month closure - in a heated row over public right of way.
Locals gave the developer days of warning before pulling the gate to one side and entering the site on August 14 - hoping to track down a manager. He said: 'This is a well-used footpath which has been here for donkeys' years and is part of a big circle that people can use for walking.
