And he's not the only one. Maureen Baxter, who has lived in the village since she was born more than 60 years ago, despairs at what has become of her beloved Whalley. David Houghton moved to Whalley 12 years ago. He saw it as the ideal retirement location but is now becoming increasingly frustrated at the number of new houses.
