A Nottinghamshire town has been listed as one of the "Top 40 poshest places in England" - prompting disbelief and laughter from some locals. A widely shared Tiktok video, which has been viewed by more than 1.2m people, has declared West Bridgford as one of the poshest places in the country - but many aren't convinced.
In response to one user laughing at West Bridgford being listed, which garnered nearly 200 likes, another replied: "Like yeah it's posh but definitely not worth being on this list". Another wryly quipped: "You have clearly never been to West Bridgford my friend."One user commented: "West Bridgford is posh-ish but I don't think it should be that high," while another said: "I don't think West Bridgford is beating Oxford.
Its busy high street has something for everyone, ranging from bars and restaurants to bookstores and supermarkets, while the historic Trent Bridge cricket ground, football grounds and National Water Sports Centre nearby make it ideal for sporty residents. Savills estate agents recently also ranked West Bridgford 13th in the country - not for "poshness" but as part of its "Top 50 places" list.
