Bodycam footage captures the arrest of Marcus Jordan, son of Michael Jordan, on DUI, property damage, cocaine possession, and resisting arrest charges. Meanwhile, President Trump signs an executive order banning transgender athletes from women's sports.
President Donald Trump signed the No Men in Women's Sports Executive Order into law, banning transgender athletes from competing in women's sports. Meanwhile, new bodycam footage has emerged detailing the arrest of Marcus Jordan, the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, early Tuesday morning. Jordan was apprehended on allegations of driving under the influence and causing property damage, possession of cocaine, and resisting arrest. He was later released on a $4,000 bond.
The Maitland Police Department released over an hour of bodycam footage showing Jordan's arrest. The video depicts Jordan's Lamborghini Urus significantly off the road, its wheels spinning in the gravel with every acceleration. The probable cause affidavit against Jordan stated that a blue Lamborghini matching the suspect's license plates fled from a traffic stop. Throughout the encounter, Jordan repeatedly asked the officers to help push his SUV out of the ditch, both inside the vehicle and after being instructed to exit. The affidavit detailed that the arresting officer observed Jordan slurring his speech and having bloodshot, glassy eyes. Despite Jordan's pleas, the officers expressed safety concerns, but Jordan remained fixated on his vehicle, stating, 'the concern is this $300,000 vehicle.' At one point, an officer noted that a train was only minutes away.As the interaction continued, Jordan attempted to put his hands in his pockets. An officer, concerned about potential weapon concealment, instructed him not to do so and proceeded to pat him down. Jordan then identified himself to the officer, saying, 'I'm Marcus Jordan. I'm Michael Jordan's son. I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just trying to get home, and I made a wrong turn.' Officers later conducted a field sobriety test, which included walking a straight line on a makeshift tape line. After failing the tests, Jordan was arrested, handcuffed, and placed in a patrol car. During a search before being transported, an officer discovered a clear plastic baggie containing cocaine, which tested positive. Officers alleged that Jordan resisted entering the cruiser, even attempting to prevent the door from closing by sticking his leg out. The footage continued to record after Jordan's arrest, showing officers returning to the SUV as a train sped by, narrowly missing the Lamborghini.
