This article contains spoilers for Death of the Venomverse #2 Anti-Venom is a character who’s quite literally the antithesis of Venom all the way down to the cellular level, with their own set of unique abilities and power-sets that make them a threat to anyone who challenges them, including and especially regular symbiotes like Venom or Carnage.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Death of the Venomverse follows Carnage - who has rid itself of the need for a host, including and especially Cletus Kasady - as it traverses the multiverse, slaughtering Venoms. The reason Carnage is doing this is presumably to become powerful enough to kill the Venom of Earth-616 aka the King in Black.
Silence Is Marvel’s Strongest Anti-Venom, & Possibly Key To Stopping Carnage Death of the Venomverse #2 by Cullen Bunn and Gerardo Sandoval does more than just focus on Carnage and his twisted mission, but also the Venoms dedicated to stopping him. Among them are Anne Weying’s Agent Venom and Virus, who are leading the charge against Carnage. Using the Virus Armor, this Symbiote Squad is able to travel the multiverse as easily as Carnage.
Silence is a mixture of the symbiotes Scream and Anti-Venom who decided to call herself ‘Silence’ upon her rebirth to indicate that she was now the absence of ‘Scream’ . Like Anti-Venom, Silence has the same cleansing power, making her able to ‘cure’ anyone afflicted with any type of disease, drug addiction, or parasite. Not only that, but Silence does still have the abilities of the original Scream, including trichokinesis, the unique ability to control her hair like tendrils.
Death of the Venomverse is really only beginning to scratch the surface of Carnage’s multiverse-wide villainy and his cosmic power, so it’s a total toss-up if the Symbiote Squad will be able to stop him at all before he gets to the King in Black. However, with the recruitment of the most powerful version of Anti-Venom, Silence, this Venom army just took a major step in the right direction - only time will tell if it will prove to be enough.
