Multiple people injured after a vehicle crashes into a crowd celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles' NFC championship victory on Broad Street.

Chaos erupted on Broad Street in Philadelphia after the Eagles secured their spot in the Super Bowl , as a vehicle plowed into a crowd of celebrating fans. The incident, which occurred late Sunday evening, sent multiple people to the hospital. Police say the driver, who is currently in custody, may have accidentally struck the pedestrians at an intersection along Broad Street , a customary gathering spot for Eagles fans to celebrate big victories.

Video footage from the scene captured Philadelphia Fire Department personnel working on the injured in the street. The number of people struck or hospitalized has not yet been released. The Eagles' triumphant victory over the Washington Commanders with a score of 55-23 fueled a massive celebration that spilled onto the streets, drawing crowds from across the city. Earlier on Sunday, Philadelphia's Office of Emergency Management announced the closure of traffic on both sides of Broad Street, stretching from just north of City Hall to its famed South Street, in anticipation of the festivities. However, the incident occurred north of these designated closure zones. The Eagles will now face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 9th, promising an exciting culmination to the NFL season
