ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A pair of vehicle collisions Monday afternoon near Palmer caused a brief road closure near mile 36 of the Glenn Highway and a traffic backup at the first Knik River Bridge, state troopers said.
The first crash initially closed the highway just past the Glenn/Parks Highway interchange, troopers said, which was later cleared up and reopened.The second crash happened at the first Knik River Bridge — also known as the James Bondsteel Bridge — and caused a “significant” backup, according to troopers.
