UTSA matched the program record for wins in a season, rallying in the closing minutes to knock off Tulane 77-73 on Tuesday in New Orleans . The Roadrunners ’ 24th win of the year equals the total posted by the 2008-09 team and maintains UTSA ’s one-loss cushion atop the American Athletic Conference standings with two dates remaining in the regular season.
The Roadrunners trailed the Green Wave 65-62 with a little more than three minutes to play before charging to an 11-2 run to build a six-point advantage with 30 seconds remaining. Tulane trimmed the margin to one possession twice with a pair of 3-pointers, but UTSA’s Sidney Love sealed the win at the free-throw line. Aysia Proctor scored 16 points off the bench on 7-of-12 shooting, while Love netted 14 points with seven assists. Idara Udo scored all 10 of her points after halftime and pulled in eight rebounds. The Green Wave hit 12 of 23 from 3-point range, but the Roadrunners forced 25 turnovers. UTSA closes the regular season with a home date against FAU at noon Saturday and a trip to East Carolina at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
