After beginning to emerge last season at the Roadrunners' versatile 'money' position, Pewee is already viewed as a potential leader in his sophomore year.
As he prepares to open his third year with UTSA , linebacker Owen Pewee can see a newfound maturity starting to transform some of his routines. Entering preseason practices for 2024 with a fresh level of comfort after beginning to find a role in the defense last year, Pewee said he’s waking up earlier and fitting in more frequent visits to the trainer’s room — habits he admits were not easy to build.

Making the skill a primary focus through two years at UTSA, Pewee said one-on-one film study with nickels coach Zach Brown has helped him measure his steps when pursuing opposing quarterbacks.
