At the 2024 Olympic Games, Diego Pettorossi and Fatoumata Kabo represent Italy, Alanah Yukich represents Australia, and Keith Sanderson represents the U.S.
The University of Texas at San Antonio and the Northside Independent School District are cheering on their Olympians in Paris . Each institution shouted out the athletes — three Roadrunners and one Marshall High School alumnus.
The contingent is Diego Pettorossi from the class of '22, Alanah Yukich from the class of '23, and incoming Roadrunner Fatoumata Kabo, the university said in a news release. This is the first Olympics for all three competitors. All three athletes will compete in track and field events. Pettorossi and Kabo will represent Italy, while Yukich will represent Australia.
. 'This is a full-circle moment that began when I joined three years ago,' he said in the release. 'Working with Kareem Streete-Thompson was a turning point in my career; he is not just a coach but the person who truly made me realize my full potential,' he said. 'I wouldn’t be here without him and the support of the Roadrunners family.' Yukich, who qualified for this year’s Games on June 21 with a top time of 55.15 seconds for the 400-meter hurdle event, credits her success to 'years of dedication and hard work.
