Troy is making its ninth bowl appearance in program history and is playing its first bowl game since the 2018 Dollar General Bowl. The Trojans have won four straight trips to bowls. Their last bowl loss came in the 2009 GMAC Bowl against then-No. 25 Central Michigan.UTSA wide receiver Joshua Cephus needs just 15 yards to reach 1,000 receiving yards this season and join Zakhari Franklin as the only receivers in UTSA history to have 1,000 receiving yards in a season.
Troy quarterback Gunnar Watson has completed 193 of his 310 pass attempts for 2,705 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. In the Sun Belt championship game, he threw for 318 yards on just 12 completions, so he’s capable of making big plays.
