The father of a teenage girl who died at a boarding school in Utah is suing the facility, which he alleges ignored his daughter's severe pain weeks before her death. Taylor Goodridge died of peritonitis, an infection of abdomen tissue, followed by sepsis, which caused her organs to fail, in December 2022 at Diamond Ranch Academy in Utah. Taylor Goodridge was allowed to call her parents once a week at the school that touts itself as a"world-class residential treatment center and therapeutic boarding school," but school staff allegedly blocked her access to the phone when she was sick.
They continued:"We intend to continue to pursue all avenues to hold Diamond Ranch Academy accountable for her death to make sure this does not happen to other innocent teens and their families." Mortensen mentioned three other separate incidents involving alleged abuse at the school, which could not be reached for comment.
